Track Controls

For multi-voice notation, control which parts you hear.

When Track Controls Appear

Track toggles appear in the Edit Studio when your notation has:

  • Multiple voices - Duets, trios, ensembles
  • Chord accompaniment - Melody with chord symbols

Voice Toggles

Each voice/instrument gets its own toggle:

  • Clarinet - Check to include in playback
  • Piano - Check to include in playback

Uncheck a part to mute it during playback. This is useful for:

  • Practicing your part with accompaniment
  • Isolating a specific voice to hear it clearly
  • Learning one part at a time

Piano Grouping

Piano parts with separate right and left hand voices are automatically grouped as a single "Piano" toggle. You can't mute just the left hand, for example.

Accompaniment Toggle

When chord symbols appear above the melody (like "C" or "Am7"):

  • Accompaniment - Plays chord voicings

Mute the accompaniment to hear just the melody, or mute the melody to hear just the chords.

Practice Mode Tips

Learning a Duet

  1. First, listen to everything together
  2. Mute your part, play along with the other part
  3. Then mute the other part to practice solo

Working on Melody + Chords

  1. Listen to full arrangement
  2. Mute accompaniment to focus on melody
  3. Mute melody to hear the chord progression

Ensemble Rehearsal

Share individual parts via PDF export, then use track toggles to create practice recordings with one part missing.
